10 Things to Do in Vancouver With Your Family This Weekend!

Stanley Park in Vancouver

This iconic Vancouver location is perfect on a sunny day, as there is so much to see and do. You can rent bikes or walk around the seawall, and there are various stops along the way, including the Vancouver Aquarium, Second and Third Beach, spray parks, multiple concession stands, the lighthouse, the yacht club, and the train ride. You could spend the entire day here and not see everything.

Science World

This amazing Vancouver activity is perfect on a rainy day and fun for the entire family. From water tables to building structures and learning about science, there is something for everyone. Science World even has an Omnimax Theatre and various food options, so grab your family and prepare to have fun!

Granville Island

This Vancouver public market is great, rain or shine! Enjoy strolling indoors and outdoors through the various stores. From grocery to boutique shops, playgrounds, restaurants, a water park, and an indoor play area, there is something for everyone. I recommend going early as parking can fill up fast, and you don’t want to miss out on all the fun!

Queen Elizabeth Park

This beautiful 52-hectare park is the highest point in Vancouver, with stunning flowers, cherry blossom trees, gorgeous views, and a hot spot for wedding photos. The park is also home to the Bloedel Conservatory and Seasons in the Park restaurant. The park also offers diverse recreational activities, including tennis, lawn bowling, and pitch and putt.

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden in Vancouver’s Chinatown.

Visit the Chinese gardens at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. This is a must-see visit with its unique construction, beautifully sculpted vegetation, and meandering brooks. Bring your camera because you will want to take pictures!

The Shameful Tiki Room

If you are looking for an escape or miss traveling, then this is a must! The Shameful Tiki Room has created a Tiki experience that includes ambient lighting, music, and specialty cocktails. The decor has been imported from all over the world, and on any given night, you may experience a Ukelele player or a Surf band. Who else wants to feel like they are on vacation? I know I do!

Dimensions Art Gallery Downtown Vancouver

Vancouver’s 3D art gallery, located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, is so much fun! Bring your camera and take some amazing pictures. The staff is great and will help you with some photo ideas to make the images really stand out. If uncovering mysteries is your jam, then this is for you! They have 3 games to choose from. Book your game online, show up to the address provided to play, and follow the instructions. You will also receive a game kit with everything you need to solve the puzzle. As this is a timed game, you must work fast to uncover the mystery.

The Bunny Cafe

Vancouver’s Bunny Cafe is a must if you have kids over the age of 5. Book your 55-minute visit and enjoy the comfort of all the bunnies from Rabbitats Rescue. Due to COVID, food and drink are not available at this time, but check their website for updates. If cats are more your jam, you can also check out the Catfe Cafe, which has over 20 cats to cuddle and play with.

Greenheart Tree Walk

This hidden gem is at the UBC Botanical Gardens. Navigate through suspended walkways and tree platforms, while enjoying the view. This 310 metre walkway reaches as high as 23 metres off the ground and is a must-do adventure.
